You'll find our winery tasting information with our impressions of the wines we tasted in the groups in which we tasted them which are some combination of chronology and geography, as we tend to take trips to areas to taste and try to enjoy as many different places as we can while we are there.  My son said it would be nice if I posted pictures of each winery, but then I would spend my life trying to get the perfect shot everywhere I went, so I just put a link at the end of each winery section so you can click there and see their websites loaded with pictures and information.

Rather than list every city, I've split by areas. Paso Robles is everything we visited on our trip down there, so consider it to be everything south of Monterey County. Sonoma is everything in or about Sonoma County, and the Bay Area is everything within an hour of so of our home in San Jose, which will include Los Gatos, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara County, Livermore and parts thereabouts.

In addition to the wineries by area, I have now added a separate section just for the Grapevine Wine Bar and Noshery, which is in the heart of Willow Glen in San Jose. Because we've tasted so many wines there, it seemed appropriate to give it its own section.

Each group will have the names of the wineries we visited under the name of the area.  They are alphabetical here, but are listed with the first batch alphabetically and then in the order visited, so the most recent visits will be last.

We will be expanding our geography via a long overdue trip to Napa Valley in April, 2011 and will open a new page with the wineries we visit there.

The Grapevine Wine Bar and Noshery

We have tried and listed (if I can count) something like 56 different wines from 40 different wineries all over the world at Grapevine. You won't find anything generic that you buy at the big-box stores, but you will find a very wide variety of wines with a wide range of pricing.  It's a great place to taste a lot of different things, and they change the tasting menus often enough that you won't get bored.
